Thanks for coming to my website!

My name is John Hurr, I am a graphic / web / interactive designer but I am also an artist. In an attempt to get in touch with my artist side again (too much photoshop!) I am starting this site. I don’t have a great camera right now but I am definitely working on it. I have old pictures and new pictures and hope to upload one everyday!

cold winter ales was conceived as concept during the winter of 2007. I spent my first winter in Seattle last year and it was a great experience. Each season has it’s own charm and the most amazing part is that each region of the world has its own charm during each season. I lived in Ohio most of my life and traveled sporadically throughout the years but it was always during the summer. Normally winter is spent at home, plugging away at school and hanging out with the family. Coming to Seattle I had a very different experience. It was rainy, dark, and cloudy. Not the sun and snow I’m used to at all. It really opened my eyes to how seasons change with geography and culture. It changed the way I view the concept of home, winter, and life itself. It was an eye-opening experience.
